10 Years on Main Street: elSage's Anniversary Weekend in Mount Vernon

elSage Is Turning 10. Come Celebrate on Main Street in Mount Vernon, WA

Friday–Sunday, June 5–7, 2026 · 10AM – 6PM daily · elSage Shop, 501 Main Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98273

If you've never been to elSage, this is the weekend to come.

This June we're marking ten years as a brick-and-mortar shop on Main Street in downtown Mount Vernon. What started in 2010 as elSage Designs, an online shop rooted in handmade culture, found its permanent home on Main Street in June 2016. A decade later we're still here, still making things, still showing up for this community, and we want to celebrate with you.

The celebration is three days, with something happening every day, free to attend, all ages welcome.

What Is elSage?

elSage is a maker-focused retail and creative studio on Main Street in Mount Vernon. We curate goods from over 250 independent makers: jewelry, ceramics, apparel, greeting cards, skincare, art, and more, alongside original screen-printed merchandise designed and printed in-house at the shop. It's not a gift shop. It's not a boutique in the conventional sense. It's a carefully considered collection of things made by real people, and we've been at it for 16 years.

We also produce Valley Made Market, a curated outdoor makers market held at Riverwalk Park in downtown Mount Vernon several times a year. Community is queen around here.

Anniversary Weekend Schedule

All weekend: swag bags for the first 5 customers through the door each day, plus a prize wheel with every purchase. Spin for a gift!

Friday, June 5 · 4:30–5:30PM Print Your Own Hat. Choose from a selection of hats, pick your colorway, and screen print it yourself with guidance from Jonathan. A design will be on press. Follow our Instagram Stories this week to vote on which one. This is hands-on making, not a demo.

Saturday, June 6 · 11AM Free honeycomb toast bites from our friends at Martini Brunch. A little taste of the local food community that surrounds us on Main Street.

Saturday, June 6 · 12–1PM Block Print Your Own Tote. Use pre-carved blocks and letters to create a one-of-a-kind tote bag. All ages welcome, no experience needed.

Sunday, June 7 · 12–1PM Print Your Own Hat, second edition. A different design on press from Friday and another opportunity to make something with your own hands before you leave.

10 Years on Main Street

elSage started as elSage Designs in 2010, an online shop focusing on our own block printed work. We worked out of our house as long as we could. Our first brick-and-mortar on Main Street opened in June 2016 in a tiny space just off Main Street. It was mostly print studio with a tine sales floor. And here we are 10 years later in a double space in the heart of Downtown! We're proud to have made it through the evolution of downtown, through the growth of the maker economy in the Pacific Northwest, through everything a small business navigates over a decade.

If I've learned anything over these past 10 years of brick-and-mortar life and 16 years of having a business it's that you should follow your heart, your gut, and your joy. The indie economy is all about making small changes with big impact. We're into doing what you can, where you can, with what you have available. Thanks for being part of this journey so far. We're excited to celebrate with you.

xo, Phoebe

Traveling the I-5 Corridor?

Mount Vernon sits right on Interstate 5, about 65 miles north of Seattle and 60 miles south of the Canadian border at Blaine. Downtown is walkable, anchored by the Skagit River waterfront, with independent restaurants, coffee shops, and shops within a few blocks of each other. If you're traveling this summer for the FIFA World Cup in Seattle, a road trip to Vancouver BC, or just exploring the region, the June 5–7 weekend is a natural stop.
